About Creative Literacy Consultancy
The Creative Literacy Consultancy is run by Stephanie Vaughan. Stephanie is an experienced teacher of English and whole school literacy, who has worked with pupils and teachers in varying social and economic settings. She has led the development of English and literacy in two schools, and she is therefore well aware of the challenges faced by teachers and able to help schools to develop their own solutions to literacy problems.
She has recently been a local authority literacy adviser and developed the highly successful 8 Reading Behaviours, a comprehensive programme to teach pupils to become motivated, purposeful strategic readers, who can read and understand text independently. This approach has been successful as a whole school methodology and as a catch up intervention and has been particularly effective with boys. She has also developed strategies to teach writing, information retrieval and ways to develop pupils’ technical accuracy. She offers practical tools to make literacy teaching engaging and interesting.
